Setting and ReportingThe United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund (UNJSPF) was established in 1949 by the United Nations General Assembly to provide retirement, death, disability, and related benefits for staff of the United Nations and other member organizations of the Fund. UNJSPF administers benefits of more than 90,000 beneficiaries residing in more than 190 countries, paid in 18 currencies, and services more than 130,000 participants who work in the 25 member organizations of UNJSPF. The Fund has offices in New York (United States) and Geneva (Switzerland) and two liaison offices in Nairobi (Kenya) and Bangkok (Thailand), respectively. The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund-Pension Administration (UNJSPF-PA) comprises about 282 staff from diverse countries and cultures, based across four prominent duty stations (New York, Geneva, Bangkok, and Nairobi). This temporary position is located in the Enterprise Applications Section (EAS) within the Information Management Systems Service (IMSS) of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund-Pension Administration (UNJSPF-PA). The Information Systems Officer will report to the Chief of Section.

ResponsibilitiesWithin limits of delegated authority and depending on location, the Information Systems Officer may be responsible for the following duties:

  • Serve as the lead ERP Solution Architect for Oracle Cloud Financials, responsible for solution design, configuration alignment, and end-to-end architecture across Oracle Financials capabilities, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Budgetary Control, Subledger Accounting, Financial Reporting, and integrations with the pension administration system, Oracle EBS, and related enterprise platforms.
  • Design and oversee Oracle Cloud Financials solution architecture, including financial process design, dataflows, controls, reporting needs, and inbound and outbound integrations required to support financial operations.
  • Ensure that integrations supporting Oracle Cloud Financials are designed using appropriate enterprise patterns, including Oracle Integration Cloud, API-led connectivity, event-driven architecture, and reusable components, while remaining aligned with Oracle ERP business processes and financial controls.
  • Lead solution design for Oracle Cloud Financials within the broader enterprise application landscape, ensuring secure, auditable, and reliable connectivity with ITSM/HRSD/CSM platforms, the pension administration platform, and other systems that support financial business processes.
  • Provide technical leadership across complex Oracle Cloud Financials initiatives, owning solution architecture decisions, design authority sign-offs, and non-functional requirements, including performance, scalability, security, auditability, observability, and operational resilience.
  • Establish and maintain solution design standards, reference architectures, and governance practices for Oracle Cloud Financials and its supporting integrations; contribute to architecture review boards for ERP and enterprise application solutions.
  • Mentor and provide technical direction to ERP analysts, engineers, integration developers, and contract staff; review solution designs, configurations, integrations, and technical deliverables produced by team members and vendors.
  • Facilitate communication with vendors and business stakeholders; serve as the technical counterpart in Oracle Cloud Financials solution discussions and the onboarding of systems that interface with Oracle ERP.
  • Champion the responsible adoption of AI-assisted development, automation, and productivity tools across the software development lifecycle to improve solution quality, delivery efficiency, maintainability, and operational support.

      Work Experience

      • A minimum of seven (7) years of progressively responsible experience as an ERP Architect or Technical Architect in Oracle Cloud, with substantial experience in Oracle Cloud Financials, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Cash Management, Fixed Assets, Budgetary Control, Subledger Accounting, and Financial Reporting, within SaaS-based enterprise environments, is required.
      • A minimum of five (5) years of hands-on experience designing or overseeing integrations that support Oracle Cloud Financials, including use of Oracle Integration Cloud, API-led connectivity, data models, and integration governance, is required.
      • A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience designing or supporting integrations involving pension administration, payroll, or other core financial platforms, such as Oracle, Vitech V3, SAP, Workday, or comparable systems, is required.
      • A minimum of three (3) years of hands-on experience designing and supporting financial dataflows, reporting integrations, reconciliation processes, and interfaces between Oracle Cloud ERP/Financials and enterprise data platforms or data warehouses, including AWS- or Azure-based solutions, in large enterprise or public-sector environments is desirable.
