Overview
Registered Nurse – Med Surg travel assignment in Hilo, Hawaii. This 15-week assignment starts on 08/24/2026 with a weekly pay range of $1,799–$1,897 per week. Shifts are rotating, and the work setting is an inpatient hospital-type unit providing med/surgical care for adults 18 and over.

Responsibilities
- Provide direct, evidence-based RN care for adults (18+) on a med/surg unit, including assessment, planning, and documentation
- Administer medications, monitor patient status, manage wounds and devices (e.g., wound vac, chest tubes) and participate in ongoing care planning
- Utilize Meditech EMR and Pyxis for orders, documentation, and medication dispensing; ensure accurate charting and timely response to changes in patient condition
- May float to related units (surgery, pediatrics, transitional care) as needed; maintain competency across units
- Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to ensure patient safety, discharge planning, and adherence to established care protocols
- Maintain professional standards and unit expectations, including dress code and infection prevention practices; uphold a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio on the unit

Requirements
- Active Hawaii RN license by start date (must have Hawaii license at assignment start)
- Minimum 2 years of Med Surg or higher-level care experience
- BLS required; ACLS preferred
- Graduation from an accredited nursing program; eligibility to practice in Hawaii
- Ability to work a rotating schedule with variable shift lengths and days; flexibility to float as needed
- Unit size around 50 beds; capacity to adapt to a fast-paced inpatient setting
- No holiday RTO requests; must participate in orientation and pre-employment health requirements
