Responsibilities
- Deliver coordinated nursing care for a patient or assigned group of patients according to established standards of care and the nursing process.
- Supervise and direct the activities of various levels of assigned nursing staff; coordinate care with other disciplines while utilizing critical thinking, professional judgment, and independent decision-making.
- Monitor maternal and fetal status, administer medications, perform obstetric procedures within scope as assigned, and respond to emergencies to maintain patient safety and comfort.
- Maintain accurate documentation of care plans, progress, and outcomes; communicate with patients, families, and the healthcare team; advocate for patients’ needs.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (obstetrics, anesthesia, pediatrics, lactation consultants, social work) to coordinate seamless care for mothers and newborns.
- For Float Pool assignments, clock in to the unit being worked; this department includes education and non-productive hours for Float Pool nurses.

Requirements
- Active Registered Nurse license in California
- Labor and Delivery nursing experience or demonstrated competency in obstetric care
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Ability to work 3x12-hour night shifts
- Eligibility for travel assignments and compliance with unit policies
- Strong communication and teamwork skills, with a patient-centered approach
