Techies Without Borders (TWB) is a nonprofit organization focused on using sustainable Information Technology solutions to deliver free continuing medical education in resource-scarce communities. TWB brings together professionals from Information Technology, Education, Medicine, Management and Finance to collaborate on the Continuing Medical Education Solutions (CMES), a platform that delivers offline-capable continuing medical education to clinicians who might otherwise lack access. Its downstream reach is estimated at 20 million patients.
TWB is recruiting an Executive Director to lead the organization through a pivotal transition from a founder-driven model to a fully distributed, scalable leadership structure. This is a executive role that requires both strategic vision and the ability to lead and energize a skilled global volunteer team.
You will have real authority: shaping strategy with the Board, representing TWB to global partners and institutional donors, integrating medical, technology, operations, and finance functions, and driving the partnerships that will define TWB's next chapter. The role requires a commitment of 8 to 12 hours per week in a volunteer leadership capacity.
• Direct strategic planning and execution in partnership with the Board of Directors.
• Serve as primary spokesperson and relationship lead for institutional partners, donors, and global health organizations.
• Lead and integrate the Executive Leadership Team across medical (CMES medical director and regional coordinators), technology, operations, finance, and external relations.
• Work with the regional coordinators.
• Drive fundraising strategy alongside the External Relations Lead.
• Oversee financial stewardship and resource allocation.
• Build and sustain a high-performing, mission-aligned volunteer culture.
• Report regularly to the Board on strategic milestones.
Senior leadership experience in a nonprofit, health system, academic institution, or technology organization.
• Proven ability to build and sustain strategic partnerships and donor relationships.
• Experience managing or coaching distributed, mission-driven teams.
• Fluency in global health, digital education, or technology-enabled programs.
• Exceptional communication skills across organizational and cultural boundaries.
• A genuine commitment to health equity and access in resource-limited settings.

Commitment: 8–12 hours per week; volunteer, with a pathway to part-time compensation.
Term: Renewable every two years by the Board of Directors.
Reports to: The Board of Directors.
