JOB SUMMARY/PURPOSE
Delta Utilities is seeking a Technician, Materials to perform warehousing functions at a centralized location supporting district or defined area of company operations. Receives, stores and issues materials and supplies. Prepares necessary Oracle records or enters information on mainframe computer to document receipt and issuance.
ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
• Issues material to employees or contractors, accepts return of materials and restocks materials in warehouse.
• Receives material from vendors, including unloads trucks and inspects material for discrepancies between order and delivery.
• Ships material to other locations; prepares material and documents; maintains necessary logs and inventory records
• Completes hard-copy documentation, enters data into computer systems and performs computer inquiries.
• Maintain warehouse cleanliness, order, and safety. Remove empty cartons, metal bands, pallets, and other debris. Inform immediate supervisor of safety issues.
• Perform all job functions in accordance with the company's Safety Standards.
• Operates material handling equipment such as forklifts, cranes and banding machines.
• Handles hazardous material in accordance with laws, regulations and company policy.
• Transports material between warehouses and/or other locations.
• Handles new and used equipment and materials in a safe manner.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Minimum education required of the position
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum experience required of the position
• 2+ years’ experience in warehousing operations supporting the gas distribution system, including safe and accurate operation of tools and equipment.
Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities preferred of the position
• Be energetic and alert.

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required for the position
• Forklift Certification preferred
Physical Requirements
• Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a minimal amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, kneel, reach, lift arms, carry items and climb stairs or ladders.
• Able to view terminal for extended periods of time, use keyboard and sit for long periods of time to use personal computer.
• Able to use the proper tools for any given job.
• Able to be included in random drug screen pool required for DOT drivers and DOT safety sensitive positions.
• Able to don personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses, hardhat, gloves, protective footwear and earplugs on a daily basis.
• Able to operate a motor vehicle and heavy equipment and the ability to enter and exit vehicle unassisted.

• Able to be included in random drug screen pool required for DOT drivers and DOT safety sensitive positions.
• May be required to remain in the service area during emergency events and assume responsibilities assigned by the company to aide in restoration efforts
