Job Title: Managing Senior Counsel

We are seeking a talented and experienced Managing Senior Counsel to join our client’s team and provide general legal services to their fFinancial institution and its subsidiaries. As the direct backup to the General Counsel/Vice President of Legal Services, you will play a critical role in litigation management, regulatory compliance, and offering transactional corporate advice as needed.

Key Responsibilities:

• Protecting the organization’s legal interests by providing sound legal advice and counsel to internal departments and subsidiaries.
• Assisting in the management of Legal Services Department operations as a Senior Attorney.
• Proficiency in various legal areas including banking law, drafting and negotiating contracts, corporate law, managing outside counsel, and compliance with National Credit Union Administration regulations.
• Flexibility to undertake any other duties as assigned by the management team.

Requirements:

• Master’s Degree in Law
• Minimum of 7 years of experience practicing law in a law firm and/or in-house legal department.
• Supervisory experience of at least 1 year overseeing junior attorneys, paralegals, or legal staff.
• Specific expertise in either in-house legal practice within a regulated industry (banking or credit union preferred), banking and finance law in a firm, or regulatory experience in the financial services sector.
• Licensed to practice law in Texas or eligible for reciprocity.
• Self-starter with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multitask, work independently, and solve problems autonomously.
