Job Description

As a Facilities & Logistics Associate , you'll be the first point of contact at our Oakland shop and will play an important role in keeping the workspace organized, safe, and operational. You'll manage shipping and receiving, coordinate materials between offices, support facilities needs, and take on hands-on operational projects.

You'll report to the Head of Mechanical Engineering within client Labs .

• Manage shipping and receiving , including answering the shop door, signing for deliveries, and routing packages to the appropriate recipients.
• Keep the shop entryway and front office organized, clean, and professional .
• Maintain organization throughout the shop, ensuring tools, parts, equipment, and materials are stored safely and logically.
• Coordinate the shipment and transportation of materials between client offices and Labs locations.
• Support day-to-day facilities operations , including furniture assembly, workspace setup, and coordinating vendor services.
• Arrange for the safe handling and disposal of batteries, solvents, and other hazardous materials .
• Serve as the primary point of contact with facilities management and help resolve operational issues efficiently.
• Support the Concept Engineering team with hands-on tasks, odd jobs, and operational projects that improve shop efficiency.
• Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and functional workspace .

• Comfortable working in a shop, warehouse, lab, or hands-on operational environment .
• Strong communication skills with the ability to coordinate with employees, vendors, facilities teams, and other stakeholders .
• Resourceful and comfortable solving day-to-day operational problems independently .
• Strong attention to safety, cleanliness, and organization .
• Willingness to perform hands-on tasks and support a variety of operational needs.

• Experience in shipping/receiving, warehouse operations, facilities, logistics, or shop operations .
• Familiarity with the safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials , such as batteries, solvents, or chemicals.
• Hands-on experience with light assembly, furniture assembly, inventory organization, or shop support .
• Experience coordinating with facilities, vendors, maintenance, or operations teams .
• Valid U.S. driver's license and ability to drive between Oakland and other Bay Area client offices as needed.
• Ability to pass an MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) check .

You'll help create the operational foundation that allows client Labs engineers and designers to focus on innovation. From getting critical parts delivered to keeping the shop organized and safe, your work will directly support the development of next-generation logistics technology.
