This role involves the disassembly, rewinding, reassembly, and testing of various electric motor components with precision and attention to detail.Responsibilities and Expectations:Record precise measurements prior to disassemblyRemove coils and insulation using hand toolsRewind a variety of electric motors and generators, including:Random wound and form wound three-phase AC motorsDC fieldsArmaturesWound rotorsApply proper insulating techniques and ensure compliance with specificationsPerform electrical testing throughout the rewinding processProcess varnish and operate VPI (Vacuum Pressure Impregnation) systemsClean varnish or VPI residue from motor frames after processingLoad and unload components in burn-off and bake-out ovensAssist with various other motor and generator repair tasks as neededKey Qualifications and Skills:Minimum of 2 years of electric motor winding experienceStrong understanding of motor types, winding techniques, and insulation practicesAbility to perform electrical tests accuratelyDetail-oriented with a focus on qualityReliable team player with a strong work ethicBenefits:Paid Time OffOn-the-Job Training401(k) with Employer MatchMedical, Dental, and Vision PlansAdditional benefits availablePay Range:HECO is committed to offering equitable and competitive compensation.
