Job Description

Join a skilled commercial construction team performing structural work and repair on local and traveling projects. As a Construction Technician, you support concrete and structural restoration activities, including demolition, repair, placement, finishing, and protective applications, while maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality.

Responsibilities

  • Perform concrete repair on commercial structures, including surface preparation, patching, and restoration.
  • Carry out concrete demolition using tools such as jackhammers and other demolition equipment.
  • Assist with concrete placement and finishing, ensuring proper grading, smoothing, and curing.
  • Install and maintain waterproofing systems to protect structural elements from moisture intrusion.
  • Build, install, and remove formwork, applying carpentry skills to support concrete pours.
  • Replace and install rebar and other reinforcement materials according to project specifications.
  • Apply caulking to joints and seams to seal and protect structural components.
  • Install and maintain expansion joints to support structural movement and durability.
  • Apply coatings, epoxies, and other protective materials to concrete and structural surfaces.
  • Assist with carbon fiber installation for structural reinforcement and repair.
  • Follow site safety procedures and guidelines on larger commercial construction sites.
  • Work effectively in exterior labor environments, including varied weather and site conditions.
  • Collaborate with team members, forepersons, and other trades to complete projects on schedule.
  • Travel to various project sites as required, sometimes for extended periods, while maintaining consistent work quality.

Essential Skills

  • At least 1 year of commercial construction experience is preferred.
  • Experience in concrete repair, demolition, placement, and finishing.
  • Ability to perform formwork and carpentry tasks related to concrete pours.
  • Knowledge of rebar installation and replacement procedures.
  • Familiarity with waterproofing techniques and materials.
  • Ability to apply caulking, expansion joints, and protective coatings.
  • Experience working safely on larger construction sites with established safety protocols.
  • Comfort working in exterior labor environments, including farm work, landscaping, or similar outdoor roles.
  • Ability to use demolition tools such as jackhammers and related equipment.
  • Capacity to travel for up to three weeks at a time to various in-state and out-of-state project locations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience in farm work, landscaping, or other outdoor labor is considered relevant experience.
  • Experience with framing, carpentry, and general construction tasks.
  • Familiarity with epoxy and coating application on concrete or structural surfaces.
  • Experience on larger commercial construction sites with established site safety practices.
  • Willingness and ability to travel throughout Colorado and to out-of-state locations such as Texas.
  • Strong work ethic and reliability in physically demanding environments.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and follow direction from site leadership.

Work Environment

You work primarily on commercial construction sites, both locally and on traveling projects across Colorado and to locations in Texas such as Houston, Dallas, and Galveston. After local work is completed, you may travel for periods of up to three weeks at a time. Projects currently include sites in Aspen, Telluride, Cortez, Crested Butte, Vail, and Denver. When traveling more than 70 miles from the shop, lodging is provided, and you receive a daily per diem for meals and incidental expenses, with different rates for resort and non-resort locations. The role involves outdoor work in varying weather conditions, frequent use of construction tools and equipment, and adherence to site safety standards in a physically demanding environment.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $21.00 - $27.00/hr.
