Salary: $115,000 - 145,000 per year Requirements:

• We are seeking a B.S./M.S. or equivalent in a STEM discipline, along with 4 to 8 years of experience in enterprise software development.
• We need strong experience with the Java technology stack, including Spring, JDBC, Hibernate, Java web runtime environments, JBoss, Maven, Jenkins, and JUnit.
• We require solid development expertise in core and enterprise Java, including multithreading and networking frameworks.
• Python development experience, with familiarity with numerical, statistical, and ML libraries such as pandas, numpy, scipy, and cvxpy, is desirable.
• We need a good understanding of SQL and NoSQL database concepts, with experience in Oracle, Sybase, Snowflake, or highly available distributed NoSQL storage platforms being desirable.
• Experience with ETL solutions and object-relational mapping solutions is desirable.
• Experience building RESTful web services using or gRPC is desirable.
• Experience with cloud-native development and cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure is desirable.
• Experience with distributed computing technologies such as Apache Ignite or Hazelcast is desirable.
• Experience with open-source publish-subscribe, event streaming, or messaging frameworks is desirable.
• Experience with modern JavaScript frameworks such as Angular and React is desirable.
• We need a solid understanding of Unix/Linux and related infrastructure.
• We need a strong grasp of fundamental data structures and algorithms.
• Experience with object-oriented design patterns is required.
• We need excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills, with persistence in identifying root causes.
• Experience working in an agile software development environment and with tools such as Git, JIRA, ADO, and Azure Pipelines is required.
• Understanding of the equity, fixed income, or real estate investment and trading ecosystem is desirable.
• Knowledge of equity, fixed income, or real estate indices will be preferred.
• Experience with the BlackRock Aladdin platform and dashboard technologies is a major advantage.
• Experience implementing solutions that interface with financial industry business partners is highly desirable, including data providers such as Bloomberg, Reuters, FT Interactive Data, FactSet, and Rimes.
• Experience working with index vendors such as MSCI, S&P, Barclays, and JP Morgan is highly desirable.
• Experience with trading, clearing, and funds transfer messaging networks such as SWIFT, FIX, FICC/DTC, and MarketAxess is highly desirable.

• We will be responsible for software development, testing, and support across the full lifecycle using modern development technologies.
• We will focus on enterprise software qualities such as performance, scalability, resilience, usability, and maintainability.
• We will be expected to contribute ideas that help shape our technology roadmap and solution design.
• We will work as part of our globally distributed, diverse engineering team.
• We will collaborate with Product Management, Equity and Fixed Income Research, Platform Engineering, Data Operations and Production, and Program Management to deliver innovative indices.
• We will convert high-level architecture into component designs and then into high-quality software.
• We will respond to client technical questions and carry out ad hoc analysis to support our answers.
• We will help automate the full software lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, and production operations.
• We will refactor existing code to align with newer technology stacks and architectural patterns.
