Position Overview

We are seeking a highly autonomous, execution-focused AI Engineer to take technical ownership of improving, restructuring, and stabilizing an existing AI-powered voice platform built natively on ElevenLabs . In this senior-level 3–6 month contract engagement, you will be tasked with independently auditing a problematic production environment, defining best-practice architecture systems, and implementing scalable technical remediations end-to-end. Working closely with a compact internal engineering squad, you will resolve system gaps, optimize conversational audio workflows, configure middleware routing components, and stabilize integrations across telecommunication networks. This track demands a pragmatic problem solver who can ship production-ready fixes rapidly with minimal oversight.

Key Responsibilities

• ElevenLabs System Remediation: Assess the active ElevenLabs voice platform instance to identify structural bottlenecks, scalability blockades, and operational inefficiencies.
• Voice Agent Optimization: Define and implement modern deployment best practices for call agent configuration, estate management frameworks, and operational visibility layers.
• Architectural Migration Execution: Plan, map, and execute systematic migration paths from the current legacy setup to an optimized, highly reliable target-state environment.
• Middleware & API Integration: Evaluate and recommend suitable middleware tooling layers to facilitate stable third-party client integrations and automated backend workflows.
• Telephony Infrastructure Tuning: Synchronize conversational AI voice workflows seamlessly with cloud communication platforms including Twilio or similar contact center networks.
• Technical Blueprint Authoring: Author crystal-clear technical blueprints, operational procedures, and standard operating manual (SOP) logs to enable long-term platform maintainability.
• Agile Troubleshooting: Independently isolate, debug, and resolve complex automated flow bugs across cloud-based data layers, voice agents, and tracking scripts.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Strong hands-on experience deploying, configuring, and optimizing **ElevenLabs voice solutions and call agents inside high-volume production environments**.
• Demonstrated technical history configuring and troubleshooting conversational AI integrations, cloud APIs, and **middleware-driven software architectures**.
• Practical operational familiarity working with cloud telephony layers and contact center platforms, specifically including **Twilio**.
• Proven capability to assess fragile codebases or system setups independently, making high-signal technical roadmap decisions with speed.
• Excellent documentation skills, with a track record of authoring scalable technical standards, operational workflows, and software guides.
• Language Skills: Clear, confident English communication mechanics, sufficient to collaborate with both technical and non-technical business stakeholders.
• Location & Shift Context: 100% remote-first contractual framework open to qualified talent based in **India (Ahmedabad, Bangalore, Coimbatore, Delhi NCR, Hyderabad, Kolkata)**.
• Fixed Shift Parameters: Summer hours (12:00 PM - 9:30 PM IST) | Winter hours (1:00 PM - 10:30 PM IST), Monday to Friday tracking.

Preferred Strategic Indicators (Nice to Have)

• Prior experience utilizing industry-standard workflow automation middleware tools such as **Zapier, Make, or n8n**.
• Exposure to legacy script automation environments, including VB Scripts or comparable background modules.
• History building or refining customer support automation software, AI-powered conversational bots, or interactive voice response (IVR) platforms.
