Job Description

The A&P Helicopter Mechanic is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing rotary-wing aircraft to ensure safe and reliable operation. This position performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance in accordance with applicable FAA regulations, manufacturer requirements and maintenance manuals, Sterling’s Repair Station Manual, company policies and procedures, and established safety practices.

The mechanic works with other maintenance and technical personnel to diagnose and resolve aircraft discrepancies while maintaining accurate documentation and supporting a strong culture of safety and quality.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Perform routine inspections, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, and repairs on Bell, Airbus, Leonardo (Agusta), Sikorsky, and MD models.
• Troubleshoot aircraft systems and discrepancies and perform necessary repairs using applicable technical data.
• Perform component overhauls as required.
• Perform and document all work in accordance with applicable FAA regulations, manufacturer maintenance manuals and technical data, Sterling’s Repair Station Manual, and company policies and procedures.
• Accurately complete required maintenance records and documentation.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a clean, safe, and serviceable condition.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Valid FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) certificate.
• Basic computer proficiency.
• Must be able to successfully complete a background check.
• Must be able to pass an FAA-required drug test.
• Must be able to reliably commute to Pembroke Pines, FL

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to routinely lift up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to work in confined spaces and at heights.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and perform repetitive movements as required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Civilian helicopter experience, particularly with Airbus, Bell, Leonardo, and Sikorsky

Work Environment:

Work is primarily performed in an aircraft maintenance hangar environment and may involve exposure to noise and varying temperatures.
