Lake of the Ozarks
Sponsorship Information

The Goal
Our ultimate goal is to bring the Internet to the Lake of the Ozarks communities and make it available for commercial access and public dial-ups, so that members of the Lake Area community can access the global information superhighway at little or no cost (preferably completely free). Access to the global network should not be only for the elite, the wealthy, and businesses; we believe that everyone should have access to the global network. Ultimately, such access can only be good for everyone, businesses and individuals alike. The Internet is the largest pool of knowledge the world has ever seen. What price can be put on education?

The Problem
While our goal is, we think, a great one, the costs are also quite high - well into six figures.

Solutions
There will always be a need for more funding: to pay employees, to expand bandwidth, to add additional dial-up lines for the community, to purchase and/or upgrade needed software and hardware, to expand what's available for the community in the way of newsgroups, MUD servers, IRC servers, etc. Thus, donations will certainly be freely accepted, and there will be a page to list all the individuals and smaller companies who are generous enough to donate funding in any amount. The page listing these donations will be sorted by year, then amount, then alphabetically, so that those who donate the most also receive the most recognition for their contribution.

For those who have no time or money - we understand; information access should not be restricted to the financial elite, so in at least one respect our goal is primarily focused on those without disposable income. We'll do our best to take care of you.
